Hi babes! I’m Randi, the creator of this blog- The Dress Code. I started this blogging journey in the spring of 2017 while on the last part of maternity leave with my daughter, Harlie Brooke! Fashion & beauty have always been a huge part of my life, so I finally took the chance and created a blog to have a space where I could share my love for them both. I share everything from motherhood to fashion favorites and must-have beauty products.
Before the blog, I went to college and graduated as a Licensed Medical Esthetician in 2010, and began working in a medical spa doing various laser/facial treatments, as well as running my own business of on site hair + makeup. My husband and I got married in May 2015, and live in the small town of Oakwood, Georgia. We decided to start a family after our one year anniversary since we had already been together since 2005! I sometimes find myself giggling at myself and the career path I chose to go down, because growing up I was one of biggest tom boys in my group of friends! I would (and still would) choose to go riding four wheelers over shopping at the mall any day. So to go in the beauty/fashion world as a career is so funny. You can find me in workout leggings and a tee most of the time, but when the time comes to get dressed up, I can take two hours to get ready!
I created this blog to help women find clothing and beauty products at affordable prices as well as motherhood tips and tricks. You can find me on Instagram at @thedresscode_ .
What sizes do you wear in clothing, shoes, etc?
— I am 5’2 and roughly 123lbs. I usually wear a XS/S in Tops, 24/25 in Jeans, and a 0/2 in Dresses. Shoe size is 6/7 (my feet grew a little after I had Harlie!)
How do you get volume in your hair?
What makeup/skincare do you use?
What were your Must-Have’s during & post pregnancy?
How do you edit your pictures?
— My photographer edits the ones I hire her to take (usually the fashion ones), and the rest I use FaceTune & Camera+ apps on my iPhone.
Where did you get your “mama” necklace from?
— Etsy! There are several different styles of mama necklaces to choose from.
What is your degree in?
— Funny story, I originally started college as a Business major and was going to also get my real estate license to build and sell homes with my dad who had been doing it for years and was very successful. When I was finishing up my first year in college (2008) was when the economy started to crash and I knew I needed to find something else. I had always had interest in the beauty world but knew I didn’t want to work full time in a salon. So I researched my options and found the Medical Aesthetician degree and fell in love with it the very first week of class. I graduated from Lanier Technical College in 2010 with my Licensed Medical Aesthetician certificate and have been practicing since at a MedSpa in Gainesville, Ga!
