This past weekend was fall break here in north Georgia, and as a 15+ year tradition, my family headed up to Tennessee and spent the weekend in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg! We love it there, and it’s always decorated SO festive for fall. Justin and I will be going back early December, just the two of us for a quick baby-free getaway.
As bummed as I was before heading up there about the temperature still hitting the mid 80s, we still had a blast. This was Harlie’s second trip there, but the first she could walk around and ride some attractions. We usually go to Dollywood every year, sometimes every other, but since Harlie is now able to ride the kiddo rides- we said let’s go! She had so much fun, and we did just watching her! Friday when we got there, we pretty much just hung out at the condo and got take-out. We like to watch the Georgia game on Saturday while we’re there, and it was perfect this year since it didn’t start until 7:30pm, and we were able to go out and enjoy the day before heading back in for it. Saturday morning we went to our usual Red Rooster Pancake house, and then to the Three Bears Pancake House on Sunday. I don’t think we’ve ever had bad breakfast in PF! There is also a nice Tanger Outlets Mall in Sevierville we hit up sometimes while we’re there, and did so on Sunday.

Now, let’s talk about hats!
For the longest time I didn’t wear any hats, except on the rare occasion my hair was a #hotmessexpress and I, for whatever reason, couldn’t wash/style my hair so I threw on a baseball cap. I always loved how other girls styled cute fedoras and floppy hats in the summer, but never had the courage to wear them myself. Finally, this past year I started reaching for something besides an Atlanta Braves hat. I love how a hat can totally step up your outfit, without costing a chunk of change like a fancy pair of shoes or handbag. THIS hat I’m wearing is $39 and comes in three colors- black, grey, and this brown.
In this years Fall/Winter Fashion Week, hats we’re all over the place as far as what was “in style”. Things like full face knit beanies (like, who would wear that out besides my husband when he goes hunting this winter?!), to bejeweled bucket hats. So I’m going to share my top 5 choices besides the one I’m wearing above!
#1. HALOGEN – wool floppy hat $39
Comes in 4 colors, and is adjustable.
#2. PETER GRIMM – straw hat $45
Western is SO in this fall, and with 4 distressed colors to choose from, I say this hat is a win!
#3. MADEWELL – corduroy baseball cap $32
Here’s a way to step up your baseball hat game in style!
#4. URBAN OUTFITTERS – brixton fiddler hat $42 (+50% OFF!)
I love the braid detail on this hat, and it comes in black also.
#5. PRETTYLITTLETHING – leopard baker boy hat $19
You didn’t think I could do a post about accessories without some leopard print did you?!
What’s your take on hats? Do you wear them for style, or just for #badhairdays??
