Although we are barely brushing March, we’ve hit 78 degrees here in Georgia several times now. I truly thought with the first snow hitting weeks before Christmas that we were definitely going to be in for a doozy winter. I can’t remember the last time we got snow before the last week of January. However, it is Georgia and you can have snow one day, and be hitting 60 the next. Just what it does here. So, since we’ve gotten some spring weather peeping in, and as hot natured as I am, I did break out shorts one day. I felt a little silly, until I saw some others doing the same. Until I can get a base tan, I can’t be putting shorts or a tank top on without some self tanner. I’ll scare people away!
Today, I wanted to share some outfit inspiration for these awkward months that we’re freezing in the morning, but sweating by lunch time. I paired this fun H&M leopard sweater with my favorite denim cut offs, and my go-to black booties. I could have also went with a closed toe boot/ie if it was a little cooler and wanted my feet to stay warm. Because I kept a fall/winter style boot for this outfit, I didn’t look silly with a sweater and shorts. If I would have thrown a pair of sandals on, then I think people would have just said.. okay, it is still February Randi.
The most common way to dress during transition months is obviously layers. I’ve got a post coming dedicated to lightweight jackets, vests, and other outerwear to wear from March through May! I love scarfs for spring time that most assume when it hits spring months, it’s time to put away the scarves. No! Find yourself some cute colorful scarves that help accent your outfit for the day. These obviously shouldn’t be wool and thick material so that it has a spring vibe to it instead of fall/winter. I would steer away from prints like buffalo and plaid. Lastly, my other favorite part of spring layering is a newer trend of using a bralette. These are made to be seen and come in so many different styles and colors! You can pair these with a comfy tee, or lightweight sweater worn off the shoulder.
