Being the hottest hue of the season, I thought I would touch base on it even though I’ve never been a mustard yellow fan.
SHOP THE LOOK
It’s safe to say my mom is obsessed with everything mustard yellow. She has handbags, tops, jewelry, and more in this shade. I however haven’t owned one thing mustard yellow in probably a decade. Until now. I just never reached for this shade while shopping, except in home decor. My home style is far from white and modern, and the three colors I lean towards are brown, burnt red/orange, and mustard yellow. Why I never wore it, I’m not sure other than the fact that I felt like it clashed when my hair was blonde.
I was ordering the second batch of clothing for my boutique when I got two mustard tops I thought were super cute and went right along with the fall trend colors. Once I got them in I tried them on, and was so surprised how much I loved them! So I decided to keep one of each in a small. I officially have yellow in my closet now lol.
Yellow seems to be a very easy hue that can either make or break an entire outfit if not done correctly. But when you deepen it to the “mustard” shade, it brings it to an earth tone hue that can be worn much easier. It can be paired with many more options like wine/burgundy, olive green, and navy.
I saw this maxi skirt when ordering my first kid’s clothing wholesale and KNEW I had to get Harlie one! They run 6-12 months span so it was a guess when she could fit into it, which was around 7.5 months. This was our first time really “matching”, I can’t wait to do the cheesy mommy/daughter outfits a couple times when she’s a little older.
I linked my top and Harlie’s skirt from my boutique at the top for you to purchase, and I’m also putting some options from clothing to jewelry to accessories below.
