I’ve had so many women ask me the past few months about my diaper bag, so I wanted to share how I’ve got it set up for you guys that have questions or are a mommy-to-be!
Justin bought me this bag in 2014 when he was a few months into starting his own business and wanted to, as he said “cross off something on my bucket list”. I know this is a little off subject, but I wanted you to understand why I didn’t just go buy a diaper bag instead of this route I chose. Justin decided to start his own masonry company in early 2014 after being in the construction business since he was 16. It wasn’t an easy start, and there were weeks he was working 7 days a week, and just to get to hang out together, I would ride in the dump truck with him on Saturday’s and Sunday’s sometimes. We have been extremely blessed in the 3 years that the company has been created, but it’s still far from being “easy”. When he told me he wanted to buy me this when it wasn’t my birthday or anniversary, I asked why. He said he wanted to thank me for being there during the hardest of times, and not complaining everyday he was working so much. So this is why I want to continue carrying this bag even though he’s bought me many bags and nice things since then.
It’s a great bag to use as a diaper bag because of the durability and size. It does come in 3 different sizes for those that want something a little smaller. This insert also comes in more colors, and sizes. I’ve link some similar inserts as well that would work great.
So what’s actually IN my diaper bag on the daily? Its changed some since she was born until now, but there are a few staples items that won’t be leaving anytime soon.
- The obvious- diapers, wipes, changing pad, burp cloth, paci/paci clip, and formula (after breastfeeding).
- Change of clothes + bib for Harlie, and a shirt for me (in the car, instead of wrinkling in bag)
- Hand sanitizer, baby tylenol + mylacon, around $20 cash, a pen, ziplock or bag for dirty diaper/clothes, toy(s), and myself a water bottle.
